Match GRAYL GeoPress, UltraPress, titanium, and legacy Ultralight purifiers with the correct replacement cartridge and lifespan guidance.
All GRAYL guides
GRAYL GeoPress and UltraPress cartridges are not interchangeable. Match the replacement to the name on your bottle:
GeoPress or GeoPress Ti: use the GeoPress Replacement Cartridge.
UltraPress or UltraPress Ti: use the UltraPress Replacement Cartridge.
Older Ultralight Compact Purifier: verify the separately listed Ultralight Replacement Filter.
If the model name is unclear, compare the bottle, existing cartridge, and SKU before ordering.

The similar words “UltraPress” and “Ultralight” do not prove compatibility. Current UltraPress owners should select the product explicitly named UltraPress Replacement Cartridge.
The GeoPress cartridge supports both the standard 710 ml bottle and GeoPress Ti. Published specifications include:
up to 350 purification cycles;
up to 250 litres;
approximately eight seconds per 710 ml with a fresh cartridge under suitable conditions;
replacement when press time reaches around 25 seconds or three years after first use;
sealed shelf life of up to ten years when stored correctly.
The 68travel product is currently listed in black and orange variants; check the live selector for availability.
Choose a GeoPress Replacement Cartridge
The UltraPress cartridge supports the current 500 ml UltraPress and UltraPress Ti families. Published specifications include:
up to 300 purification cycles;
up to 150 litres;
approximately ten seconds per 500 ml with a fresh cartridge under suitable conditions;
replacement when press time reaches roughly 25–30 seconds or three years after first use.
Black and orange variants are present in the 68travel catalog; current availability can change.
Consider a sealed spare when:
the trip is long or remote;
local access to the exact cartridge is uncertain;
more than one person will use the purifier;
the installed cartridge already presses noticeably slower;
the purifier is part of an emergency kit;
you want to avoid interrupting use while waiting for delivery.
For ordinary local use, track the first-use date and press time instead of replacing a cartridge prematurely.
The published cycle and litre figures are maximum ratings. Silt, sediment, and tannins reduce cartridge life and increase resistance. Choose the clearest freshwater available and pre-filter visible debris when necessary.
Cold water may temporarily take longer to press. Diagnose replacement need under typical conditions rather than from one unusually cold cycle.
Perform a dry press after use as directed.
Remove and air-dry the cartridge thoroughly before long storage.
Do not wash the cartridge with soap or cleaning agents.
Keep an unused spare sealed until needed.
Record the date the installed cartridge first touched water.
Replacement cartridges restore the bottle’s intended performance; they do not expand its use. GRAYL cartridges do not desalinate seawater or brackish water and are not designed for industrial spills, extreme chemical contamination, nuclear incidents, or toxic blue-green algae.
Technical figures and operating limits on this page are based on GRAYL's published specifications and instructions:
These are manufacturer-published benchmarks, not a guarantee for every source. Press time and cartridge life vary with water quality, sediment, temperature, cartridge age, and user technique. Use suitable freshwater only: GRAYL cartridges do not desalinate salty or brackish water and are not intended for industrial spills, extreme chemical contamination, nuclear incidents, or toxic blue-green algae. Follow local advisories and choose another source when conditions exceed the manufacturer's guidance.

No. It uses the GeoPress cartridge family.
No. It uses the UltraPress cartridge family.
Use the published capacity as a planning figure and press time as the practical signal. Replace at around 25 seconds under normal conditions, or after three years from first use.
GRAYL publishes up to ten years for an unused airtight cartridge stored properly. Keep it sealed and follow storage guidance.
