At 68travel, we design and manufacture our own wooden maps and other wooden decorations. Creating them takes several stages, from design to finishing. The result is a carefully finished wall decoration, so when you look at it you will say "wow, this is awesome!”. And then you remember the places around the world you’ve already visited…
Production starts with the design. We decide which countries belong in each layer and how to combine the colours so the pieces fit together. We also choose 50 of more than 300 islands for the standard package, with others available in the Extended Islands Package.
We turn the design into vector files for the engraving machines, which cut and engrave the plywood. Staining adds the chosen colours. Each country and island takes shape, and we glue the small parts together by hand to form the continents and the finished 3D map.
Finally, we pack each map carefully for its journey from our workshop in Slovakia to your home.
