The base of the globe is made from natural alder wood that is hand painted by our artisans. Filled with geographical references, the map is a faithful reproduction of an 18th century map. The inside of the globe is decorated with ornamental and mythological motifs inspired by the Atlas Coelestis seu Harmonia Macrocosmica by the German-Dutch cartographer Andreas Cellarius.
