The Via Alpina is an extensive network of long-distance hiking routes connecting eight Alpine countries - Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Italy, France and Monaco. The total length of all the routes exceeds 5,000 kilometres and runs across the most diverse parts of the Alps, from the seaside coast to high mountain passes and historic valleys. The routes are designed for hikers and offer the opportunity to discover the natural scenery, local culture and traditional life of the Alpine regions.
The longest and most famous route is the Red Route, which runs from Monaco to Trieste in Slovenia and is divided into more than 160 stages. Some sections pass through well-known mountain areas such as Mont Blanc or the Dolomites, others pass through lesser-known but equally impressive locations. The Via Alpina aims not only to promote tourism but also to connect regions, cultures and countries in the spirit of sustainable travel.
All map variations feature a precision laser-cut and hand-glued wood panels for an outstanding quality experience. Region borders, roads, names and cities are nicely engraved (where space permits). Regions are stained to 4 different colours with natural wood stains.
Map Installation
Wooden country maps come in one piece (editions larger than approx. 100 cm consist of one or more pieces). Glue (like a construction adhesive), strong double-sided adhesive tape (included in the package) or other mounting solution (like framing mounts, screws, etc.) can be used to install the map on a wall. Different surfaces might require different mounting solutions.

Delivery Instructions
Our wooden and moss maps are sensitive to rough handling. Due to their weight and size, the wooden pieces are quality packed suitable for international transport via a courier company. From time-to-time damage may occur during transport. Therefore, you should inspect your package upon delivery and if there is any damage to the outside packaging, record that on the spot with the delivery driver (preferably also taking detailed photos or just decline delivery). Evidence of damage has to be sent to the shipping company and ourselves within 24 hours of delivery.
