Easy to install acrylic base for our wooden world maps that follows the continent contours. The base is mounted using the included metal stands and raises the map from the wall by about 14mm (0.55in). The final effect is an even more intricate 3D effect.

Standard and remote islands note
Hawaii and French Polynesia do not have an acrylic backing. These islands will need to be places directly on the wall. Acrylic base is not available for the remote and exotic islands expansion set at the moment.

It is possible to add the acrylic base for various accessories for the map like 3D compass, Antarctica or World Landmarks.
Colour Options
Clear transparent plexiglass is standard. Upon request we are able to supply various other colour options (black, opal, semi-transparent, etc.).
How to mount the acrylic plexiglass on a wall?
The stainless steel stands are mounted to the wall using the included screws (or other specialised hardware depending on your wall type). Precise location of holes for the stand can be marked using the plexiglass itself - which acts as a template. The plexiglass is then mounted on top of the installed stand supports. Remove the protective film from both sides of the plexiglass before installation. The stands have removable endcaps with threaded screws. You can then attach the wooden map pieces to the plexiglass using a double-sided tape.
