For any challenging climb, whether you have a glacier to cross, a 4,000-foot peak to climb or several snow-covered ridges to ski over and down, the ORTOVOX PEAK 55 S supports you with a comfortable back system, functional details, easy attachment of all equipment and a clear access to the main compartment. An extremely durable pack with a five-year warranty that you'll get used to really quickly.
Cleverly designed pocket system
- Separate pocket for avalanche equipment: for shovel and probe.
- Main pocket: elastic strap for securing a bottle or reservoir, with the option to route the hose between the shoulder straps.
- Front zippered pocket: for a guidebook, map, and compass.
- Hidden pocket in the main compartment: for documents, cash and valuables.
- Outer lid pocket: plastic carabiner for keys.
- Side cat pocket: with perforation for water drainage.
- Pocket: for cell phone, camera or GPS.

Robust, environmentally friendly and water resistant
In the interest of sustainability, the outer materials are made from 50% recycled 420D RIPSTOP and 100% recycled 420D polyamide, making the backpack extremely robust, abrasion resistant and long-lasting. It is also highly water resistant and dries very quickly.
The wool back system helps with sweat wicking
A special feature of PEAK backpacks, is the SWISSWOOL 3D BACK SYSTEM, which ensures extremely high wearing comfort. To ensure good thermoregulation and moisture wicking, the parts that come into contact with the body (back, shoulders, hip belt) are covered with SWISSWOOL fleece material. Thanks to the fleece, the back system absorbs moisture 29 times more than conventional foam systems, leaving significantly less sweat on the skin and in other layers of clothing.
Full backpack comfortably on your back
Weight distribution on the shoulders and hips is ensured by the reinforcements in the back system. The shoulder straps are ergonomically adapted to the body. You can tighten the straps not only from the bottom but also from the top and adjust the backpack to your body shape. The waist belt transitions smoothly directly from the back system and literally hugs you. You don't feel the connection between the waist belt and the pack, the pack is comfortable to carry and there's no pressure no matter how much you're carrying. When your pack isn't full, simply pull it down with the side drawstring straps.
