Compared to regular ultralight tents, it has a flysheet closer to the ground, a groundsheet with a high water column of 6,000 mm, and a construction with minimal mesh, which improves thermal and weather comfort. The rectangular layout, inner height of 99 cm, and large side vestibule (0.79 m²) provide superior space for sleeping and gear. Ventilation openings, micromesh panels, and a full-featured flysheet with a StayDry™ entrance help reduce condensation. Thanks to DAC NFL poles and quality metal corner elements, it is a reliable tent for long hikes where you want low weight without compromising durability.

The MSR Hubba Hubba HD 1 is based on the "Backpacking Comfort" philosophy, meaning the tent is designed to be lightweight yet spacious and significantly more resilient against wind, rain, and colder nights. The Heavy Duty version features a fly sheet drawn closer to the ground and a floor with a 6,000 mm water column, enabling it to handle wet ground and prolonged bad weather. The interior space is truly usable: a rectangular floor plan (sleeping area of 1.82 m²) and a high ceiling of 99 cm make changing clothes and organizing gear easier. One large side vestibule (0.79 m²) can safely store a backpack and shoes or be used as a workspace (cooking, sorting backpack contents, etc.). The DAC NFL (8.7 mm) aluminum poles, along with stabilizing tension straps, keep the tent firmly in place even in gusty winds. Notable details like the StayDry™ entrance with an integrated gutter, a large ceiling pocket, a drying line, and cable ports in the pockets make this model a well-thought-out "home" for solo hikes.
