Reliable support
Fast support, warranty service and easy returns. Lifetime guarantee on our wooden products.
A wooden world map looks most convincing when the installation is planned before the package is opened. Treat it as a wall composition: confirm the surface, mark the layout, keep the supplied instructions close and allow time to place the main sections and smaller pieces carefully.
Check that the intended wall is suitable for the selected mounting method and that the finished map will have room around furniture, switches and doors. Read the current product-specific instructions before ordering, especially for LED versions, larger maps and walls with textured or delicate finishes.
Mark the centre line and outline the selected map size.
Use the supplied templates and instructions for the main continents before smaller pieces.
Place islands, compass, Antarctica and optional accessories only after the main map reads correctly from normal viewing distance.
For LED maps, plan the power route and check the current installation notes before fixing the final position.
Keep cleaning simple and follow the current product guidance. Avoid introducing aggressive cleaners or a lot of moisture to natural wood surfaces. If you are unsure about a wall, an adhesive or the care method for a selected finish, contact support before proceeding rather than testing it on a visible map area.
The goal is a calm, accurate layout. Work from the main map outward and check the composition from normal viewing distance before placing smaller island and accessory pieces.
For the current step-by-step instructions, read How to mount wooden maps and decorations.
Should I place the islands and accessories before the main map?
No. Position the main map first, check it from normal viewing distance, then add islands, compass, Antarctica and optional pieces using the current supplied instructions.
Which wall surfaces work with the supplied double-sided tape?
It is intended for clean, dry, flat and non-crumbling surfaces; adhesion still depends on the exact paint, plaster, wallpaper or other finish.
Will the supplied tape work on a rough or textured wall?
Do not rely on it without testing. Structured plaster and other uneven or friable surfaces can reduce contact, so use the product-specific guidance or ask support before installation.
Can I install a wooden map over wallpaper?
Only when the wallpaper is smooth and firmly attached, and with the expectation that removal may damage it; delicate or textured wallpaper needs extra caution.
Is the double-sided mounting tape reusable?
No. Once the tape has touched the wall or wood, replace it rather than reusing it for a new position.
Can one person install a wooden world map?
Yes, but a second person can make alignment and handling easier, especially for larger panels; allow an uninterrupted period rather than rushing the smaller pieces.
Can the larger map panels hang on hooks?
Some Wooden World Map panels have rear hanging recesses, with their positions shown in the supplied instructions; smaller continents and islands still need the specified mounting method.
Can I mount the map on a backer board instead of directly on the wall?
Yes. A suitable wooden or acrylic backer can make the complete composition easier to move, provided the board and its wall fixing can support the finished installation.
How should double-sided tape be removed from a wooden map?
Follow the current mounting and removal instructions, work slowly from behind the panel and never pull a delicate wooden piece straight away from the wall.
How should I care for a wooden map after installation?
Keep it indoors in a stable, low-humidity room, avoid excess water and aggressive cleaners, and occasionally check that every mounted piece remains secure.
